Emanuel Blumin-Sint releases his album “Leading Bassoon” as the 10th winner of the Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis

The young musician Emanuel Blumin-Sint has set himself the task of making the bassoon an equal partner among all solo instruments. With his debut album “Leading Bassoon”, he not only takes a big step forward in his career, but also comes a lot closer to his goal of bringing the bassoon out of its shadowy existence. The album reveals not only the talent that lies within the winner of the 2024 Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis, but above all the diverse possibilities and unexpected timbres of the bassoon. With “Leading Bassoon”, which will be released on September 27 on the ES-DUR label, the 20-year-old bassoonist expands the repertoire and playing technique of his instrument and combines works by Bach, Mozart, Paganini, Allard and Villa-Lobos with contemporary compositions by Yuri Povolotsky and Valentin Silvestrov, which are dedicated to him.
