Emanuel Sint is the name of this year's winner of the Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis. The 19-year-old bassoonist was chosen as the winner of the tenth edition of the concept prize for classical music at yesterday's jury meeting with his concept "The bassoon can also be the first violin". Since 2014, the prize has honored young classical musicians for their musical talent and - even more importantly for the jury's decision - for their creative and visionary concepts. The jury meeting marked the start of the anniversary year, in which concerts at the Elbphilharmonie, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival and a separate festival in Lou Calen in France will look back on the 10th anniversary of the Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis and the success stories of its winners.
